Through Dent Rapids and on to Frances Cove

Dent Rapids is an area where one must be cautious and time the slack. We ended up waiting for over an hour to transit the rapids but it was no problem. We followed the advice of the coast pilot and avoided the Devils Hole. The guide specifically said that those that looked into the devils hole would never do it again. That was enough for me. We transited north of Little Dent island and down through the rocks and shoals to avoid the current.

We left later in the day to get the timing on the rapids at slack so we were getting tired by evening and we just found a cove that would serve as an overnight anchorage. Frances cove fit the bill and we pulled in and anchored. It turned out calm and nice.

A short day of cruising.
