Pushing to get back to Seattle

Desolation Sound was the next destination prior to hitting Straits of Georgia again. There was a bit of anxiety after our transit northbound when we had to head back and had to hunker down for a day. We were pouring over the weather models and deciding the right time to go. We staged on Desolation Sound in Refuge Cove where we found a nice dock and store with fresh vegetables.

We arrived early enough for only a cursory walk around. It was a short day in preparation for the long trip back. Our plan was to do a long day and visit Ganges Marina on Salt Spring Island. That is a nice place to spend a couple of days.

The departure was pretty spectacular at 5:00 AM
