Long Way Home

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

14 hours -- that is a long day at the helm solo. It was nice to pull into home territory. Well at least it felt close to home. After a long day of cruising, we decided to take a day of rest, rent scooters and have a fun day on Salt Spring Island.

We formed a little motorcycle gang and we had our own secret handshakes and gang signs. You must admit we looked like a couple of menacing boys.

Goat cheese, Cider and Wine were on the agenda after eating a fine breakfast at the tree house café.

We ended the day with a nice meal on the bay and a good nights sleep. We were now a stones throw from the US of A and we set to work to fill out our paperwork to be let back into the country. We did pack in some goat cheese and habanero jelly which would come in handy for the happy hours and receptions and gala events that would accompany our return from the long trek. We were also thinking of material for our speaking tour.
