We pulled anchor and headed south towards Isla Requeson. Il looked like a beautiful island with a spit of land connecting it to the mainland, clear water and sandy beaches. I was looking forward to another swim in warm water and a relaxing evening.
We arrived and the water was pretty dirty and turbid. We launched the dinghy and putted around and it was just not up to the beauty in the guidebook. We went ashore and found a restaurant. They were open and welcomed us but the one person there served us water and then left for an hour. We decided to pay for the water and move on.
Not everything can be perfect. It was disappointing but there it is.
We pulled anchor and headed out of Concepcion bay for somewhere new. We were on our merry way north, but Santa Rosalia was too far after dark so we went looking for a place to stay the night. After some looking around at different options, we decided on Isla San Marcos at the very north end.
It was a calm day and we just anchored in the northern end of the island behind Piedra Blanca Point.
We pulled in just at sunset and the aid to navigation light kept us safe all night long.
In the morning we were anxious to launch the dinghy. It was a very beautiful place and we wanted to explore.
Just on the north end of the island there were arches, caves and beautiful clear water. We tried to get into the caves but the depth was shallow and the rocks popped up everywhere. We had to be content to look at these caves from a bit farther away.
It was a beautiful place.
We had travelled a long way north, so Santa Rosalia was just over an hour away. We decided to go into the marina and take some time in the city. This was more of a city than a village so it would be nice to look around a bit.
